Hand Injury Report

On Monday, Houston Texans offensive tackle, Tytus Howard underwent a hand surgery procedure. It had been reported by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Head Coach DeMeco Ryan told reports he would be out for a long time, but did not indicate when he would return to the team roster. 27 year old Howard, has a three year contract with the Texans, and hurt his hand on Saturday at practice.

We asked Dr. Maximos of hand surgery specialists of Texas, how long is a while.Dr. Maximos stated that depending on the location of the break/fracture and how it was repaired, will depend on when he is cleared for return to play.

He went on to state that most fractures take about 6-8 weeks to heal, but with advanced types of fracture repair methods, such as the ones he performs, that time could be sooner.
